I have a very long list on my Google Reader that I absorb everyday.. not sure if they’re all useful information to absorb, but in it goes! I enjoy stumbling upon pictures that are slightly out of the norm, especially in style blogs. Not to say that most pictures in said blogs are boring, but they can be repetitive sometimes and it must be quite difficult to snap a picture that stands out from the throngs of other blogs out there. And so, minor ramble over, I was clicking away yesterday and stumbled upon Erika Marie’s blog, Fashion Chalet, and this simple picture, which I really liked! :)
On another note, I have started snowboarding lessons at a dry ski slope the past week and a half. 1. I can now go down a slope at a speed faster than anywhere near normal. 2. My coccyx is quite severely battered!
Enjoy your Wednesday everyone!
I will shamelessly admit.. I am a big Top Model fan! Since my teenage years, when the first season aired, I have watched every single episodes, till what is now season 17! It’s got me hooked. My favourite has always been Allison Harvard,; a quirky face, huge eyes and a natural personality in tow. And that face! So very strange but totally lovely. And so my illustration of her has arrived. I really enjoyed this one; big eyes are such fun to draw and so are unique features. Loving bursts of soft spread colour in my work these few days. Happy Sunday, everyone.
Another evening, another illustration. This is of model Hailey Clauson. Puts a smile on my face. I like the happy non-serious spontaneous burst of smile. I’ve had quite the productive 2nd half of the day! Along with drawing time, I’ve had short but good relaxed climb and stonebaked pizza and hot chocolate with lovely
Back to the drawing board..or book in my case!

A week in Birmingham! A city I have never visited before, and so off I went with rucksack packed with my climbing shoes, chalk bag, camera, swimsuit (hotel with pool!) and other necessities. I had one of the most relaxing weeks.. I do enjoy a hotel stay here and there :) I like waking up, having the pick of a breakfast spread (fresh fruit puree on greek yoghurt! ) and then a good long shower thinking of how to spend the day. First few days were spent perusing the Christmas Market, bouldering at two of the climbing centers, shopping (a little) and simply wandering the streets of Birmingham. Sadly I fell ill mid-week, which left me plenty of doodling time and only put a damper on the nights when i found it difficult to breathe through the very blocked nose! Saturday brought a great day at the Motorcycle Live show at the NEC. Dirt jumps 30 feet high, some great customs, catching up with a few friends.. came home this weekend tired, but at the same time brainergised (that’s brain energised), and a mind alot calmer about a whole lotta things. Time off here and there is super, I highly recommend it. Not for too long though :)
Here are the pictures of tat 1 and 3! one is the purple and three are the black lines. None of these were directly planned, and i still intend on outlining the purple bits with more black. Turned out to be abit of a diamond. Still getting the hand of drawing lines and curves with the weight of a tattoo gun, and not to mention the noise! I have a few planned for myself; it’s not entirely formed in my head yet, but am almost certain it will be on my inner lower ankle. I might tat the first words I’ve ever done on myself. A good practice run.

This week I found myself in the relatively unknown (to me) part of London called Bermondsey. Stayed there for a night while I was down for the premiere of the Art of Flight at the IMAX, which was epic in all proportions. Watching it for the 2nd time after I returned home on the tv, which I previously thought of as way large, didn’t seem large enough anymore! The graphics of the film were amazing, great soundtrack and the huge screen absorbed you right in.
Illustration Friday! A site that I’ve been following for a few months, and now going to submit an illustration every week for. Basically topics are suggested and illustrators from all over post their drawings up relating to that topic! Something I need some practice at.. I have a tendency to go off tangent.. This week’s topic is ‘silent’! So I stuffed some socks into this critters mouth.
Anyone not watching Attenborough’s Frozen Planet on BBC? It is amazing, and I truly wish he was my grandfather; imagine all the stories you’d get to hear. I was trying to get some stills from the show to marvel at, but ended up googling for arctic birds instead and found this little fella- the Redpoll. Can’t wait for the next episode to air to see what other marvels we get to see. I’d like to draw a crustacean of some sort next or an anthropod. Something with a hard shell on its exterior.

Inspired by yesterdays post, today I ditched the go-to pen of choice, the black felt tip, and went straight to colouring without borders. Don’t think I’ve ever done this actually; I’ve always enjoyed the boundary that black lines give me, feels like shelter. But today, having walked through the Bristol Zombie walk in the rain, seeing bodies being munched on the ground, people throwing themselves off tumbling slopes, being sniffed and snarled at from multiple flesh eating beings.. I thought hell yeah ok .. chuck the black!!

New tattoo ideas for a friend of mine, i.e. tattoo number three.. exciting indeed, awaiting by the door for my black ink to arrive to get started. Might practice lettering on myself before anything else; get more to grips with handling the gun. Love these; I think they’d look ace medium sized, on the slight back of the shoulder, sort of on a jaunty diagonal, mid-way between smack on the shoulder and the direct back of the shoulder. Fun stuff, and my hands were happy to draw in fat black lines again. Feels like home.
Who’s that girl.. the light blonde hair was abit of a tricky one to colour, as it had plenty of subtle tones to it, like blues, pinks and light light yellow, and hence it has resulted in so, which when taken in with your whole eye, does the trick nicely I think. Hello my dear Kate, I bet you weren’t expecting this, and I sincerely hope you like it! It is full of your awesomenessness. Happy Thursday everyone, and eventhough the sky is bleary for those here in the UK, sniff up, because the cold crisp Autumn air is the best ever to suck into your lungs! Smells abit sweet, no?
Charles is my homeboy. Nuff said.
